| We have had news that flipcode, a large online resource for programming information has finally closed its doors. This is what they had to say.
'After more than six and a half years of game development goodness, flipCode is closing its doors. We are no longer accepting submissions of articles, images, news, etc. The article archives will remain online as reference material for the foreseeable future, and the programming forum archives will still be accessible* in a read-only state. The e-mail addresses for submissions will no longer be active'

| Kri Havoc has given us his complete university thesis honours project, including source code and documentation, on real time generation of dust clouds in 3D applications. It's an excellent investigation into a complex field, and covers principles including octrees and space partitioning, blending, billboarding, voxels and much more. The full package includes source code for individual techniques, making this a great resource for anyone looking to code any particle based effects. | Looks like VC6 Service Pack 6 is nearly here. The knowledge base article is live and accessible, but the download link has been coming and going for the past day or so. Anyway I'm posting this now on the basis that the download will appear soon, so you can just keep checking the KB page. And halleluiah, they fixed the "Cannot save file" antivirus bug!
